A leader in women’s health

Bleed ID was designed by experts at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, where 15,000 births a year take place, including more than 5,000 annual C-sections.

Neeraj Desai, MD

High Risk OB,
Maternal Fetal Medicine

Dr. Neeraj Desai, a board-certified maternal-fetal medicine specialist, helped lead a team at Orlando Health to develop Bleed ID to address critical delays in recognizing and treating postpartum hemorrhage. Drawing on 15+ years of frontline experience, he recognized that these delays were contributing to suboptimal maternal outcomes, disrupting the vital bond between mother and newborn, and creating challenging working conditions for medical teams. In response, the team developed the first real-time hemorrhage alert system specifically designed for C-section care—empowering providers with rapid, actionable insights for life-saving interventions.
